Queenstown Deanery Youth Lenten Retreat at Pallotti Farm

Queenstown - Deanery Youth Lenten Retreat 2012

From the 29th till to the 30th of March 2012, more then 100 young people braved the cold and wet weather to attend our Deanery Youth Lenten Retreat. The numbers could have been higher, but other young people simply could not make it, but we were with them in Spirit.

All the Parishes were represented. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the Parish Priests of Whittlesea, St. Theresa’s – Parkvale, St. Theresa’s – Mlungisi, St. Josephine Bakhita, the Cathedral Parish, Ezibeleni, Ilinge, Cathcart, Balfour and Stutterheim. You deserve a special gratitude for the way you organized your youth and you enabled them to attend. Bravo! The attendance according to Parishes was 100 %.

They were well behaved and indeed they were all an inspiration to one another! They enjoyed the retreat and it will help them to keep the fire burning within their respective parishes.

We thank most sincerely our Deacon Tulani Gubula who excelled in the preaching of the Retreat. He touched the hearts of our youth.

Our gratitude equally goes to Father Florent Eloundou, the Provincial Delegate of the South African Pallottines, who welcomed us very heartily at Pallotti Farm, and spent most of his time amongst us.

He made us feel at home and indeed we were.

For the Diocesan and Deanery Youth Commissioners, we are always touched by your dedication and commitment! Our youth are in safe hands. Well done. Your organizational skills contributed greatly to the success of the event. Thank you.

Seen the success of it, this event may be well worthwhile to repeated next year!
