What a beautiful celebration we had at Holy Cross Mission, McKay’s Nek on the 18th April 2015 celebrating 70th birthday of Rev. Deacon D.E. Ngxowa and 15 years anniversary on his service as the deacon in the Diocese of Queenstown. The weather was clear, nine priests priests were there for Mass, one deacon, Rev. Deacon Selana. This thanksgiving celebration began with Holy Mass led by Fr. D. Mbulawa of Queen of Peace-Willowvale.
The choir sang nicely with joyful faces and made everyone else get to the mood of the function itself.
In his homily the dean of Glen Grey Deanery Fr. Mncwabe mentioned the importance of thanksgiving, he said we should not wait for many years but thank God for each day and second that he gives to us. After Mass there was a short celebration at the hall with gifts and refreshments served. We so appreciate what Holy Cross Mission did for the deacon and his family as he dedicates most of his time in church activities. We also congratulate Fr. Thembalethu for the good work and cooperation with his parishioners.
